The Wright Residence and Garden
28 Taché Boulevard

This nineteenth-century neo-Gothic residence was build around 1855 by the grandson of Philemon Wright, the founder of Hull Township. It replaced the founder’s house, which had burned down in 1849. Philemon Wright’s sister, Nancy Louisa — wife of John Scott, the first mayor of Bytown — raised her children here, and their descendants lived in the house until 1963. The Government of Quebec declared the house and its garden a historic site in 1979.
