Marie-Charlotte Denys de la Ronde, daughter of a leading Québec family, married Claude de Ramezay in 1690. He was a governor of Trois-Rivières, Montréal, and New France. She bore nine children and took part in his commercial pursuits, continuing to operate his sawmill business after his death. By Saint-Marc Moutillet. |
