The Rocket with the Maurice Richard Trophy, established by the NHL in 1999 to be presented annually to the League’s highest regular season goal scorer—making The Rocket’s name forever synonymous with goal scoring excellence. If the trophy had existed during The Rocket’s playing career, he would have won it five times: 1944–1945, 1945–1946, 1949–1950, 1953–1954 and 1954–1955.
