Pot

During late- and post-medieval times, durable cooking pots of cast bronze such as this one from Eelde, were highly valued. Many bronze pots have been deposited in bogs and rivers and, not infrequently, show signs of deliberate damage — probably a symbolic gesture to remove them from worldly use. Drents Museum.
