Story Boxes: The Tony Hyman Collection

Cigar smoking was the fashion in Europe and North America between 1870 and 1920. The labels on the inner lids of cigar boxes acted as miniature billboards, competing to attract customers. Each of these old cigar boxes tells a story about everyday life in Canada when it was young. The exhibition will be on view in the new acquisitions display case in the corridor leading to the Cafeteria, from February 14, 2003 until July 2004.
