Canvas of War

Canvas of War is the largest exhibition ever mounted from the Canadian War Museum’s extensive war art collection. In all, sixty-nine works of art and three large sculptural groups created for the Vimy Memorial in France are showcased. These works are the legacy of a selection of war artists, including four members of the Group of Seven (A.Y. Jackson, Frederick Varley, Arthur Lismer, Franz Johnston) and the well-known contemporary painter Alex Colville.
