Canvas of War Canvas of War is the largest exhibition ever mounted from the Canadian War Museum’s extensive war art collection. In all, sixty-nine works of art and three large sculptural groups created for the Vimy Memorial in France are showcased. These works are the legacy of a selection of war artists, including four members of the Group of Seven (A.Y. Jackson, Frederick Varley, Arthur Lismer, Franz Johnston) and the well-known contemporary painter Alex Colville. You will obtain a higher resolution picture by clicking on the image title. If you're not satisfied by the quality of the pictures, please contact our Media relations office. For images from the Canvas of War exhibit, please note that unless given express written permission from the Canadian War Museum's Image Reproduction Services (imageservices@museedelaguerre.ca) the artwork is to be reprinted in its entirety without bleeding, cropping, or overprinting. |
